BioMed Alliance has just published a new workshop report on ‘Demystifying public-private cooperation in health: how can we facilitate healthcare professional and researcher involvement?’. The report is the result of a meeting that was organised last April which brought together industry partners and representatives from the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), healthcare professionals, and researchers to explore the barriers limiting healthcare professional engagement in public-private partnerships, and how to overcome them.
With IHI Call 11 out now, there are some key opportunities for the medical community to get involved, share their expertise and bridge the gap between basic research and the implementation of innovative concepts and products in health care. The workshop report therefore presents the key barriers that healthcare professionals may face to participating in public-private cooperation initiatives like IHI, and how the obstacles can be removed.
