The BioMed Alliance supports the work of medical societies and the healthcare professionals and researchers that they represent by focussing on other important issues beyond EU policy.

One of our main focusses is on Continuing Medical Education, as Medical Societies are key providers of information and continuous training to doctors. The BioMed Alliance has also focussed on other key issues for members including the transition to Open Access, the fight against COVID-19 and societies’ responses to the war in Ukraine.

Better Education Better Care

BioMed Alliance Members have produced a cartoon highlighting the importance of high-quality and unbiased continuing medical education for medical professionals. Medical professionals participate in continuing education to keep their knowledge up to date and to be able to provide the best standard of care to their patients. This education is provided by independent medical associations that rely on networks of experts. It is vital that they are able to continue this important mission and that education for doctors remains impartial and based on the most relevant and reliable scientific information.
